Associate my desirable habits with positive emotions
Shift my mindset to make hard habits more attractive --> associate hard habits with positive experiences
change "have to" to "get to" -->
I get to broaden my knowledge through reading everyday
I get to build up my endurance and health through taking a walk everyday
Try to create a motivation ritual, do something enjoyable immediately before my difficult habit (e.g. take a deep breath and smile before diving into a stressful task) --> train myself to adapt a motivation ritual to get myself into the flow state
Motion = planning, makes me feel like I am getting things done
Action = what actually produces results/outcomes
I want to be in Action, not in Motion
To build a good habit, what matters is the # of repetitions, not the duration of each performance --> I get to read everyday to build my habit
the less energy my habit requires, the more likely it is to occur --> tidy up my environment!!
how can I optimize my environment to make actions easier?
e.g. lay out my yoga mat so it's ready for stretch whenever I need it
e.g. wear my outdoor jeans so I am ready for walk --> remove the friction of having to change to go outdoor
